Recently, a feng shui master visited. After some casual conversation, we had an insightful chat about I-Ching feng shui theories and their practical applications. Many businesses or business owners might have encountered such masters before. But as a businessman, how should one approach this? Especially when you’re already wearing the光环 of being smart.
From my personal perspective, an entrepreneur’s main focus is on their products, services, and team。 It’s challenging to allocate time for in-depth research or discerning the authenticity of I-Ching theories or feng shui concepts。 At such times, it might be helpful to approach things from a different angle。
Any master relies on their theories and methods to provide value to their clients, just as we do with our products and services。 As long as the client finds value in what they offer, it’s acceptable。 Delving into the authenticity of their claims might not be necessary。
Any feng shui master’s theories or methods that can bring tangible and positive outcomes to you and your business are worth exploring within a certain scope。
Let me share a small story。 Once, a Buddhist master traveled to a remote village。 From afar, the roof of a house seemed to emit Buddha light。 The master went to investigate and found an old woman chanting “Namo Amituo Hu。” As we know, the correct chant is “Namo Amituo Fo。” The master noticed her mistake but first praised her before pointing out her error。 When he was about to leave the village, he glanced back。 To his surprise, the Buddha light had disappeared。 Realizing his own mistake, he returned to inform the old woman that she was actually correct in her chanting。 By the time he left the village again, the Buddha light reappeared。
The significance and value are attributed to the people。 Just as a chair becomes a relief if used by a celebrity, and just as ordinary second-hand goods if used by an ordinary person。 What makes someone a celebrity is the recognition from the public, not necessarily their actual value。 Similarly, whether it’s feng shui or I-Ching, what matters is whether it can bring greater value to you and your business。 If yes, welcome it; if no, let it go。
