Boosting Indoor Yang Energy

How to increase yang energy in your living space. As mentioned in the I Ching, the concept of yin and yang is well-known。 Ancient Chinese considered all things in the universe as either yin or yang categories。 Yang represents active, positive, external, and visible aspects, while yin represents passive, negative, internal, and hidden aspects。 For instance, yang corresponds to the upper part, exterior, sky, masculine energy, and yang corresponds to the lower part, interior, earth, feminine energy。

From this understanding, yang energy is proactive, much like pursuing a career, which requires active striving rather than waiting at home for opportunities。 Therefore, achieving success in one’s career demands an appropriate increase in yang energy。 With sufficient yang energy, motivation and confidence are enhanced, leading to greater determination and ultimately higher success rates。 Hence, both offices and homes should have slightly more yang energy。

Through decades of Feng Shui practice, I’ve observed that those struggling or failing in their careers often have insufficient yang energy in their office or home environments。 This deficiency results in low motivation, poor self-confidence, and unsuccessful endeavors。 Below are some practical methods to enhance yang energy indoors。

  1\Low Ceiling

A low ceiling can significantly diminish yang energy by making the space feel confined and Suppressing。 To counter this, consider installing under-cabinet lighting or floor lamps to improve illumination and create a sense of openness。

  2\Small Mingtang ( Auspicious Area)

The Mingtang, or the area where the bed is placed in a bedroom, should be as large as possible。 A small Mingtang can make people feel crowded and restricted。 To enhance yang energy here, ensure the bed is positioned to allow at least two feet of space on all sides。

  3\Few Windows

Insufficient natural light can negatively impact yang energy。 To mitigate this, install additional lighting fixtures and ensure existing windows are unobstructed to allow maximum sunlight。

  4\Basements

Basements inherently lack natural light, leading to insufficient yang energy。 While temporary workspaces may be acceptable, long-term occupancy is not advisable。 To enhance yang energy in basements, use bright artificial lighting and place four white crystal balls indoors。
